Best Vancouver Island Photography Workshop
The Vancouver Island workshop will be based in two of my favorite areas Campbell River and Tofino.
We will travel by boat along the Campbell River and the surrounding Discovery Islands. This region offers incredible opportunities for whale watching. We typically locate and photograph everything from whales, dolphins, and sea lions to bear, elk and seabirds. If we are very fortunate, Orca sightings are also possible.
In Tofino, you will discover a connection to the ocean, mountains, and wildlife that dates back centuries and defines the culture that exists today. We don’t have a strict schedule in Tofino. A menu of choices is available that range from structured to free exploration, all with the same goal, to immerse yourself in the diverse and natural surroundings that define the region’s uniqueness.
Some options include the quiet inlets, the old-growth rainforest, and the rolling waves that embody the vibrancy of this place. We will also take time to see the Black Bears after they emerge from their winter dens. We depart by boat daily at low tide to travel through Browning Pass to the rocky coastline of Fortune Channel as the bears roam out of the rainforest and onto the shores to forage for food. Abundant in Clayoquot Sound, Black Bears are often seen turning massive rocks searching for crabs and clams.
This is a beautiful workshop in a lovely setting. The Old Growth Forest is alive with photography locations. Then there is the sea and its magnificent mammals. Fingers crossed and cameras up for a whale breaching! Come see the Island’s incredible photo ops with us. You will love it.
